Nils Rohwer

Nils Rohwer

(born 1965), started to play the drums at age of thirteen. Completed a performance diploma in percussion at the Academy of Music in Detmold, Germany, before subsequently concentrating on mallets and drum kit. In 1993 he foundet the "Drums Unlimited" percussion school. His succesful kind of teaching the drums and mallets becomes by numerous winners on differnt competitions, by his students.
He has composed numerous works for percussion, chamber ensemble, orchestra and film.
For over 20 years he has been the "vibes" in the renowned duo "Piano meets Vibes"




Jens Schliecker

Jens Schlieker

Pianist, composer, producer and piano teacher
As a self - taught musician, Jens Schliecker proceeded to carve his artistic path in the early 90s gathering an immense amount of experience in various musical categiries. For 20 years he has been present on national and international stages.
Today Jens Schliecker works as a composer and arranger. In his state-of-the-art studio he produces works for artists encompassing various musical genres. As a composer for film music he has developed a distinguished reputation with an extensive repertoire. Jens Schliecker's own compositions portray his passion for the orchestra and symphonic music, but he also content working on projects of a smaller scale.
Jens Schliecker was awarded various international prizes for his work with the Duo "Piano meets Vibes", and in 2009 he was honored with the North German Culture Prize. He paints his music like an artist paints a canvas filling it with sensitivity and compositional depth creating and enhancing the musical experience for both musician and listener.



Lars Weber

Lars Weber

(Born 1976), traded the cooking pots for a real drum kit at the age of 10 and attended the School Of Music in Spremberg. He then quickly went on to play in several bands, stretching from Metal to Rock, Soul and Jazz. After getting his degree in Music Education studies at the FHLCottbus he discovered his love for tuned percussion instruments. He grew especially fond of the marimba and a Master Class with NeyRosauro followed.
Having been a teacher at the School Of Music in Finsterwalde since 2002, he founded the percussion ensemble "Weberknechte" which quicklygained recognition and awards at the federal level of "Jugend Musiziert".
Teaching inspired him to write his first own compositions. As a musician, he is touring with the band "Zollfrei" as well as with the marimba in various orchestrations and arrangements.



Stefan G. Schmid

Stefan G. Schmid

(Born in 1954) At the age of 12 he sat beside the stage during a concert of the local brass band conducting and beating in time all evening. The conductor noticed his feeling for Rhythm and asked him, if he would like to learn to play the drums. After just one year of studying he became a full member of the brass band and played from now on the entire programme as the only drummer at all concerts.
After graduating school he studied at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf/Hilden(classical and military training) and a few years later at the 'School of Percussion' in London(modern drumming). In the following years he played live gigs, did studio work and toured with famous stars across Europe and the world. In his eventful life as a musician in demand he performed at renowned places such as the Royal Albert Hall (London), the Carnegie Hall (New York.), Sejong Hall (Seoul), Olympia Hall (Munich) and many more. For many years now Stefan teaches at the Music School Landsberg am Lech where his percussion ensembles and soloists are crowned with success, not least due to his professional and educational commitment. Additionally he is activ in judging panels at various competitions across the country.
Stefan G. Schmid lives with his Family in the beautiful Bavarian village Hurlach near Munich.


Marcos Darío Cabezaz

Marcos Darío Cabezaz  born 1972 (Lomas de Zamora ) Argentina
Composer-arranger-marimba & vibraphone player

He obtained his diploma as National Professor of Music awarded by the Conservatory Carlos López Buchardo in 1991.
In 2004 wins the Scholarship in "Expressions of Folklore" granted by the National Endowment for the Arts (Fondo Nacional de las Artes), to refine their studies in composition, oriented to the folk music, with the argentine magister Guillo Espel.
Develops the technique of six mallets, composed by exploiting the resource.
He played his music in Argentina, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Italy.
He premiered his work  for marimba soloist and chamber orchestra in the "V Festival Internacional de Marimbistas" Villahermosa, Tabasco México September 2011.

Friedrich Tiedtke

Friedrich Tiedke

Born in 1991, Friedrich Tiedtke showed interest in percussion intruments from an early age on. When he was seven years old, he started to take lessons for drums, percussion and marimba from Nils Rohwer, who stayed his teacher for 13 years. During this time he won a first price in the German national music competition "Jugend musiziert". Besides numerous projects and ensembles he performes with, Tiedtke has been a member of the Youth Orchestra Schleswig-Holstein since 2006.

To compose is an inherent part of making music for him. In addition to works for marimba and ensembles, he also writes songs and film music. Furthermore, Tiedtke's big passion is filmmaking. For his short films he already won several awards. In 2011 he finished school and lives in Berlin now.


Daniel Piccon

Daniel Piccon

born in 1979, is teacher, composer and musician.
At the age of 10 he began his first studies in piano. Two years later he first encountered drum-set. He received his first instructions in mallets and classical percussion at Musikfachschule Kronach (1997 - 1999) where he also had his first TV appearance. He then studied at the Music High School Nuremberg (1999 - 2004) under Prof. Hermann Schwander and acquired his teaching certificate. He specialized his studies in Latin percussion, jazz-mallets and drum-set.
During his studies he began teaching at the Music-school Stein near Nuremberg, later at Musikforum Burgthann and in his own percussion-studio at Feucht/Moosbach near Nuremberg. Currently he is teaching at all these locations. His associated acts include: Landesjugendorchester Bayern (BLJO); salsa-combo La Cascara; Global Shtetl Band (www.globalshtetlband.com); Time Bandits Big Band (with guest soloist Joe Gallardo); Marimba with friends (his own project; performing his compositions in duet with cajón or in trio with cajón and bass); Amberger Sinfonieorchester.

Axel Fries

Frank Neu

(Born 1954) Axel Fries is working as a performing percussionist , teacher and composer. As a soloist and in various ensembles he has been playing and teaching in Europe, the USA, Cuba and Israel.

His works (published by Zimmermann, Heinrichshofen, Gretel, Edition 49 and NiRo publisher) are performed worldwide. Besides works for percussion, he has written music for film, theater and dance theater.
His commitment to the youth development work is in addition to teaching at the University of Oldenburg, Department of Music.

Fries received a scholarship of "Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes" and was awarded several national and international music awards during and after his percussion studies at the "Musikhochschule Würzburg" and the "University of Illinois".
